Éric Zemmour Spokesperson Quits: Mayenne Reaction
The Mayenne departmental delegate from the Reconquest party resigns. Pierre d’Herbais no longer feels on the same line with the far-right party on several points and particularly on the international aspect. The Mayennais sent a letter to Éric Zemmour, the leader of Reconquête, in which he explains his withdrawal. In particular, he says he is “threatened with death” and claims to have already filed a complaint.
Pierre d’Herbais, for example, criticizes him for his current trip to Israel, a country at war with Hamas. “We cannot denounce ethnic cleansing (Armenia) on the one hand and encourage bombing of civilian populations on the other. There is a break between morality and politics. Giving carte blanche in the name of a “fight against jihad” means that women and children are all terrorists. The Christian community in Gaza also lives under bombs and the conflict that is being unleashed in the Middle East goes beyond borders (… ) I thought that you would remain on the Gaullist line that you defended and that I approved” wrote the former candidate for the legislative elections in the department.
“I can no longer assume the role of spokesperson for Reconquête. I am resigning from my position as departmental delegate for Mayenne” continues Pierre D’Herbais, also specifying that he keeps his activist card with Reconquête. Pending the appointment of a new spokesperson in the department, regional representative Sébastien Buard is acting in the interim.
